On a side note, with today’s news of the failing economic bailout plan, the best thing you can do is call your elected representatives and tell them to quit playing partisan politics and do something for the country.  When they start hearing from their constituents they respond.  With something this big I can only imagine they are getting hundreds of calls.  The “Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008” has ballooned to 109 pages that are harder to read than a Chinese dictionary, so passing something this quickly can’t be easy.  I was happy to not see any pork attached to it! Redress from Foreclosure – Household Goods

AFSA members, please share this with those you work with.  I haven’t heard of any landlords in foreclosure in the OKC area, but it can happen, and you have some protection here that can make that forced move a lot easier on you and your family.  There are some protections if you are the landlord, too, but the government isn’t going to pay for you to move.

Departure of AFSA CEO

The attached mail from AFSA International President McCauslin announces the departure of CEO Rick Dean effective March 31. I echo President McCauslin’s words of praise for Rick. He has done a superior job for AFSA and we owe him great thanks.

I will keep you informed as I hear any updates on finding a replacement.

Below is a recent article taken from www.military.com concerning a drop in prescription prices that should help the DOD save some money and give them less of a reason to complain about the price of prescriptions. The price of prescriptions is just one piece of the puzzle causing our Tricare benefits to get attacked every year on Capitol Hill.
