AFSA members, please share this with those you work with. I haven’t heard of any landlords in foreclosure in the OKC area, but it can happen, and you have some protection here that can make that forced move a lot easier on you and your family. There are some protections if you are the landlord, too, but the government isn’t going to pay for you to move.

Subject: Redress from Forclosure – Household GoodPlease share this information with your membership. If they are forced to move because their landlord is in foreclosure, they can have the household goods paid for by the government. However, if you the military member are the landlord, it does not apply to you. There are some additional remedies under the Servicemen’s Civil Relief Act and maybe under the state laws for your duty location.
