AFSA eNewsletter
January 19th, 2009 by Bryan Thompson
Take a look at the 16 January eNewsletter available at the AFSA HQ website.
We have a new International President, and a new CEO of AFSA. CMSgt (ret) Doc Mc Causlin was hired as the CEO, so after all the travelling he has done over the years to visit lawmakers on Capitol Hill, he is moving to Washington. The VP, CMSgt (ret) Mike Carton is now our new International President. Mike lives and works in DC, so he will have ready access to those he will be dealing with. Mike has not announced yet who his new VP will be, but I will let you know.
Don’t forget, we are holding elections on 12 Feb (1130, Tinker Club) and will be electing a new President and 3 Trustees. If you are interested in any of these positions, or interested in helping the new president as a member of the exec council in another position, please let me know ASAP so I can get your name on the ballot. If you are interested in being a trustee, also tell me if you are interested in legislative, membership, or programs. [Read more →]

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
2009 BAH increase
January 5th, 2009 by Bryan Thompson
You may have heard about the BAH increases that took effect on Jan 1. How much did it increase for OKC?
A SSgt with dependents will see an increase of $107, a SMSgt with dependents will see an increase of $123.
Visit http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem/bah.html to check the amount of your increase.
Your membership in AFSA makes changes like this possible. Just like the increases in basic pay, the more voices we have the bigger impact we have on Capitol Hill. Don’t forget how important your membership is in making a difference in your quality of life!
